Organized tours

During their stay here at the Villa guests will have the occasion to visit some of the more places of renowned interest and exquisite beauty in Italy. The following visits include car hire (with multilingual driver) or minivan hire (with tour guide).

Reservations for tours and visits are required.

Day visit to Florence

A day immersed in the Tuscan capital visiting the principal sights: the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (the Duomo), the Baptistry and the Church of Santa Croce. Upon request visits to the Accademia delle belle Arti where Michelangelo's statue of David is exhibited and the Galleria degli Uffizi can be arranged. Time for shopping and lunch in a typical Florentine trattoria.

Chianti

A full day excursion in Chianti, famous the world over for its natural beauty and excellent wines. The excursion includes visits to the 'hilltop' medieval towns of Greve in Chianti, Panzano and Radda with the chance to stop off and do some wine and oil tasting. Lunch in a Tuscan trattoria in Panzano.

Siena and San Gimignano

The excursion begins in the historic town of Siena with a visit to the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria dell’Assunta. Then wander leisurely round the Piazza del Campo, lunch in a typical Sienese restaurant. After lunch a drive through the Tuscan countryside to San Gimignano and its wonderful medieval towers.

Pisa and Lucca

The two city tour begins in Pisa, in the Piazza dei Miracoli to observe the magnificent leaning tower. Free time to wander around the city, lunch in a fish restaurant before moving on in the afternoon to the pretty walled town of Lucca and its 100 churches.

Val d'Orcia

The whole of this unique valley has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. The excursion is for those who particularly adore wine, with visits and wine tastings in the prime medieval wine towns of Montepulciano (with its Nobile) and Montalcino (with its Brunello).

A day trip to the exquisite coast line of the the Cinque Terre in Liguria, visiting the colourfully quaint fishing villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso.

Venice

Known as La Serenissima - the most serene Republic of Venice is one of the world's most famous heritage sites. Arrive in the city by vaporetto — the Venetian water bus — and see the beautiful bridges, including the Rialto, as well as the ancient palazzi along the Grand Canal. A tour round piazza San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and the Accademia.
